How to do visual layout preparation

Modified on Mon, 23 Sep at 11:28 AM

Layout preparation is essential for organizing and optimizing your production process. By carefully arranging workstations, assigning operations, and allocating resources like employees and machines, you ensure that your production line operates smoothly and efficiently. This process helps to minimize bottlenecks, reduce downtime, and achieve production goals more effectively, ultimately leading to a more streamlined and productive manufacturing process.

Using the drag-and-drop tool with predefined elements, you can quickly design your production lines, make instant changes, and adjust the layout to match the specific style being manufactured.

Step By Step Process

1. Select an allocation by scrolling to the “Capacity Balancing” tab on the left side of the screen.

2. Click on the Layout preparation button.

The screen below will be displayed.

3. Click on the 'i info' button located on the top right of the application

4. The screen below will be displayed. This screen shows a list of Allocated operations and the operators list.

5. To begin the layout preparation process, the user should create a workstation by clicking the “+ Workstation” button.

6. Next, the user needs to add the relevant operations to the workstation. To do this, enter the operation sequence number in the "OpSeq" field and press the "Enter" button.

7. After adding the operation, the user can view details such as machine type, SMV, individual target, combined target, and spare minutes.

8. Based on the available spare minutes, the user can then add helping operations to the workstation.

9. To add an employee, the user should click on the "Employee" dropdown and select the relevant option.

10. If the operation has a component, it will automatically be assigned to the workstation. If not, the user should manually select the component from the "Component" dropdown.

11. After the user assigns the operations and employee, the information in the info popup will automatically update based on the selected items.

12. For each workstation, user can add the workstation image through the list of images displayed at the left side by dragging it into the Work Station Picture.

13. The user can get an overview of the layout by examining the header section of the layout preparation grid.

14. The user can view information about machine types, descriptions, and requirements using the grid at the bottom of the page.

Parallel to the layout preparation, the user can view the capacity chart by clicking the chart icon button in the upper right corner of the page.

Capacity Chart

The capacity chart provides valuable insights into line targets, which are calculated using Machine SMV, Manual SMV, QC SMV, and MP requirements from the layout. It highlights any gaps between actual and target quantities, enabling users to visually adjust the combined targets for the workspace layout. Additionally, the chart helps users identify both base operations and support operations for operators, offering a clearer view of the overall production process.

To return to the layout preparation page, the user should click on the app drawer icon.

The user can view a printable version by clicking the "Print View" button.

The user can print the layout by clicking the "Print" button.

The user can enable or disable the Autosave option. If enabled, the workstation will be saved automatically at intervals. If Autosave is disabled, the user must click the "Save" button to save the layout preparation manually.
